IWC

IWC PORSCHE DESIGN

This all original vintage IWC Compass watch ref 3551 features the rare Moonphase complication in one of the most technologically advanced watches of its time.
IWC enlisted the help of the Porsche Design studio in designing their line of Titanium watches introduced in the late 1970's and 1980's. This model shares the look of the other Porsche Design models but differs in that it is actually powder coated Aluminum with a bracelet made of Delryn, a lightweight and durable plastic. As such, the watch is incredibly lightweight.
Another notable feature of this Compass watch, is the famed Anti-Magnetic properties of the IWC modified ETA 2892 movement, on par with the famed Bundeswehr ref 3519 AMAG.
I have seen of this model had wear marks on the case from hard use in the field.
The watch measures 39 mm wide by 46 mm long and 13.5 mm thick. The lightweight materials used in the rare watch make it exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. The bracelet is sized to fit wrists up to 7.25 inches.
